Simi’s latest guest will be India’s award winning actress, Anushka Sharma, who has had a dream career ever since her debut film, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi opposite Shahrukh Khan. Following her debut film, Anushka Sharma starred in the hit flick Band Baaja Baarat and Patiala House opposite Akshay Kumar.
Anushka talks about how her dream of becoming an actress came true, ‘When I was driving back from Yashraj studios, I got the news Adi told me. I couldn't drive any more because I was crying so I stopped the car and pulled over and I called my mother and you know I told her that I got this film and you know what my mother told me. That there was this turtle that used to be there in my room I think its some Feng Shui thing you open the turtle and you put a wish in the turtle. And when it comes true you take it out.’
Anushka Sharma’s mother never told her about this, however, on her arrival to Mumbai to celebrate her daughter’s good news, Mrs Sharma told Anushka that she had written a little note in the turtle which read, ‘I hope that my daughter stars in a Yashraj film.’
Anushka Sharma adds, ‘It's unbelievable, I think somewhere she always wanted me to be an actress.’
Sounds clichéd, but this has to be one of the sweetest stories told by a Bollywood actress on a chat show, we call it, ‘A Mother’s Instinct!’
